Artist Statement

Watercolor is a lyric in the painting world. As a pioneer exploring the language of art, Mr. Haibo Shi presents the audience a splendid world where time blends. The water and color as well as the spirit and rhythm in his works has expressed the aesthetic born of the painter as lyrics and all the audience are indulged in the artistic conception.

Artist Biography

Haibo Shi is the ex-curator of the Exhibition Center of Beijing Culture Palace of Nationalities, a member of Chinese Artists Association, Vice-Chairman of China Nationalities Art Promotion Committee, Vice-Chairman of National Aged People Calligraphy & Painting Study Group, Director of US Overseas Artists Association.

He is well established water-color artist in China. He held individual exhibitions in Beijing, Guangxi (Southern part of China), Jilin (Northern part of China).

In the early years, Mr. Shi was concentrated on landscaping. He has special passion to the charming southern scenes in China. Li Rive, Dong Zhai were appeared in his paintings many times. Later on, he turns his focus to flowers. In 1997 he held an individual exhibition in Beijing. The title of the exhibition was "the Affection for Flowers". The following year, the album of Affection for Flowers was published.

At the present, he is still very active. His paintings are collected by various organizations.
