Artist Statement
Artistic expression bring me back to the delight of Kindergarten, where a love of color, shape, and texture was allowed and encouraged. The imaginal space, full of fairies and angels, was a comfort zone in an otherwise chaotic world.
Artist Biography
Elizabeth Rozan is a native of Boston who made the journey up the Avenue through Cambridge and Arlington to Lexington in 1988. Education concentration has focused on the psychological, philosophical, creative, and artistic relationships that lead to transformation – relationships inherent in a Holistic Health perspective. A writer of poetry, fiction, and essays, professional work in the Holistic Health arena includes alternative consulting in astrology. She has worked with acrylic, pastel/charcoal, watercolor, and photography to capture natural and supernatural environments, and holds an interest in contemporary art, visual and literary, as an expression of trends in popular culture. One of a group of writers/artists/musicians/educators with a vision to establish a place focused on transforming lives through the arts, she was awarded a McClennan community Arts Award in April, 2008 for co-founding the Arlington Center for the Arts. Continued exploration of the arts has connected her to many aspects of the Boston area/North Shore arts community. She currently serves on the board of the Lexington Arts Council.
