Anne Channell Seasons in the Arts
Artist Statement:
Drawing and painting is a way for me to place on paper a reflection of how I feel and see. Spring is a profusion of color. Summer is a further refinement of spring colors. Fall is the explosion of many strong colors. Winter brings with it an impression of cold with bright sun, ice or snow. Getting to know the color wheel and how color blends in various ways to create the seasons is a constant learning opportunity. The creative process expresses my feelings about the world around me whether it is a large vista or a single item whether I am at home or on a long awaited vacation.
Constant experimentation with different media (i.e. watercolor, pencil, pastels, tiles, etc.) has expanded my way of seeing things. And with it comes a whole new world of visualization.
Artist Biography:
I began painting in high school but for a variety of reasons discontinued any artistic pursuits for another 35 years while I worked in the printing industry. While I was employed for the next then years I became passionate about expressing myself through the visual arts. In my spare time I experimented with different media. It has been a wonderful journey of taking the opportunity to be creative whenever and wherever I can. |
