Bedford Center for the Arts Water in All its Forms
Artist Statement:
Water is synonymous with life. It is, in all its forms, ubiquitous. It is indispensible and devastating. And, at once, an object of desire, contemplation, ritual, purification, prophecy, and fear. It symbolizes change, chaos, and time. It is fought over, hoarded, and taken for granted. Water adopts surprising shapes and colors and it can disappear and emerge again in a completely different cast. Because of this, water is a perfect canvas for creative interpretation.
Artist Biography:
Under the sponsorship of the Bedford Center for the Arts, we are a group of Bedford (MA) Photographers exploring how to use the technology of photography effectively, become more creative in our images, and appreciate the history and artistic side of photography.
The Group was founded in late 2010 when several of the current members attended a photography class held by BCA. After a somewhat lengthy digression into technology, the “Geeks” were encouraged to form a group for photographers who wanted to pursue technical topics in photography. Since then the Group has broadened its scope to include virtually all aspects of digital photography.
The Group typically meets on the first Tuesday of the month in the BCA space at the Old Town Hall, 16 South Rd. on the Bedford Common. All interested individuals are welcome to come and join in. And check out our blog for more information: http://bcaphotogroup.wordpress.com/
