Artist Statement:

Visual artists see the world more intensely than most of us. Their view of the world can expand our knowledge and enjoyment of everything around us. The exhibit will profile both well-known and emerging artists who are beginning to make their mark. Arlene Hecht's "Gymnast" is just one of the sculptures that will be for sale at this event.

Artist Biography:

The Cary Memorial Library Foundation is hosting an Art and Photography Show and Sale in the library. The second annual Cary Library Art Sale and Soiree (CLASS) - an evening of art, music and community will take place on May 2. The evening will also include a silent auction of more than 30 pieces of art. There are watercolors, collage art, sculptures in bronze and in clay, monotypes, boxed, quilts, hand-painted silk scarves, and stained glass. There will even be a dinner cooked by the town's selectmen. The proceeds of the event will benefit the library.
