Artist Statement:

Studio 7 is a collaborative group of 16 talented multi-media women artists who have been working and exhibiting together for many years under the mentoring of local artist and long-time educator, Sally Santosuosso. Members reside in Lexington or in various surrounding communities.

Studio 7 artist work in combination of many mediums to create an eclectic assortment of collages, assemblages, photographs/digital photographs, sculpture, artist's books, paintings and fiber art.

Studio 7 members volunteer regularly in a variety of church and civic programs, using their talents to increase the visibility of art within their communities through educational projects or through committees to facilitate problem solving, change or healing. Their work has been exhibited in many local, regional national shows.

 

Artist Biography:

Sally Santosuosso, curator and mentor to Studio 7 Artists has taught for over 44 years in all levels of public and private education, including many years at the De Cordova Museum. She exhibits her work both locally, regionally and nationally. Currently her work can be seen at the Munroe Center for the Arts Gallery. All participants have exhibited at the De Cordova Museum and galleries and libraries regionally. Some have exhibited in national shows.
