Sherry Santangelo
Paper Tole

Artist Statement:

Paper Tole is the art of constructing a 3-dimensional image from a 2-dimensional print resulting in a spectacular and beautiful image. Paper Tole is the process of taking identical prints, cutting out its component parts, shaping and sizing these ‘components’, then layering them on the ‘base’ print to give the finished piece its special 3-D effect.

For Sherry, a paint brush is an Exacto knife, her paint is open-copyright print. A final piece results a very detailed, deep perspective three-dimensional end artwork.
