Artist Statement

Painting is an inseparable part of my life. It gives me great joy to portray the beauty of nature in my work and to dedicate my life to such work. I am very fond of flowers, especially peonies, and remain inspired by the scenery in Northern and Southern China.

Artist Biography

Mrs. Yan Wang is an accomplished painter specializing in traditional Chinese ink brush painting. She began her studies in the town of Jing De, a place famous in China for painted decorative ceramic ware, and eventually shifted her focus to painting landscapes and traditional Chinese flowers on rice paper.

The works in this exhibition feature Mrs. Wang's various light-filled perspectives on the beauty of nature. Employing traditional Chinese ink brush techniques, Mrs. Wang's paintings transport the viewer to water towns in Southern china, mountains and birch forests in Northern China, and water cities in Europe.

Mrs. Wang has won various national awards. Her works are collected by public and private collectors.
