In the Piper Gallery during July . . .
Seasons of New England
Coming from a family of talented artistic brothers, I always found it easy to draw fairy tale characters and sketching was second nature. Never having any formal art training, it never occurred to me that possibly I had talent.
It wasn’t until after retirement to our vacation home in Fryeburg, Maine that I reacquainted myself with my passion. The beauty of the local scenery was the inspiration to continue what I had always taken for granted. The realism of my watercolor paintings best describes my experience “up country”. Over the last ten years, my involvement in the ever-popular “Fryeburg Fair”, where I’ve won countless ribbons has been my most anticipated event.
Although my art background is uncomplicated, I enjoy its simplicity. Although I do not have any art association memberships, my families’ and friends’ appreciation and interest in my painting has always been satisfying.
