Amantha Tsaros Red and White
Artists' Biography:
Boston-born Amantha Tsaros earned her BFA and MFA at the School of Visual Art in New York City, focusing on dramatic black and white printmaking and watercolor. After moving to Lexington in 2006, however, she was seduced by the beauty of the lush green forest and vibrant flowers surrounding her studio. She picked up brushed and has since focused on bold, bright and dramatic color combinations in her landscape and floral paintings, which have been featured at the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, Gallery Seven in Maynard, and the Grace Chapel Art Gallery, Lexington. Her acrylic painting of white and red roses bursts from the 9” x 12” canvas with lush hues and vibrant brushwork – a certain antidote to a grey day.
