- Non-Fiction Videos/ DVDs
- Books on Tape or CD
- Magazines (non-current issue)
- Optelec Magnifiers (various sizes)

Friends are Lobbyists for Libraries
Political advocacy for our library and for statewide library service is a responsibility of Friends of Cary Memorial Library, Inc. Friends of Libraries work with the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC) to increase public awareness of diverse library resources and services and to inform government leaders of the need for adequate library funding. Friends are lobbyists for libraries on Beacon Hill!
Each year the MBLC adopts a Legislative Agenda that serves as a guide for its staff and the library community. The Legislative Agenda may focus on funding needs and the state budget process, or it may focus on changes in law necessary for the proper operation of public libraries, the Massachusetts Public Library Construction Program, the regional library systems or the Board’s programs supporting the use of technology in libraries.
Friends of Cary Memorial Library, Inc. supports the MBLC Legislative Agenda for FY2008. Please visit their web site (http://mblc.state.ma.us/) to read the agenda and contact your State Representative and State Senator to voice your support. Strong libraries are essential to education and lifelong learning, to economic development, to strong communities and to a strong democracy.
