Learn with LEGOs! In this hour-long workshop, children will use our LEGO kits to build Gator Jacks to learn about first class levers and principles of friction. Make a Video Game Program MAKE A VIDEO GAME

Think playing games is fun? Try making them! This two-hour program introduces students to the fundamentals of creating a video game, using carefully prepared elements. Don't tell the kids, but while creating the games, they will be learning math, geometry, design, logic, and object-oriented programming. Games can be played at home (MS Windows-only). Inuit program THE INUIT THOUGHT OF IT

The ancestors of the people of northern Canada adapted to snow, cold and ice with some amazing inventions. During this hour, we'll hear about their lives, their stories, and try our hand at building an Inuksuk stone sculpture. Sign Up Online!

Family Crafts Program FAMILY CRAFTS
WEDNESDAY: Dec 28, 2:30-4:00 p.m.

  • No registration required

Children of all ages and abilities and their caregivers are invited to get crafty with us. Stay for half an hour or the entire hour and a half; you can make your craft as simple or as complicated as you want. Markers and paper are always available as well. Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

The Happiest, Dopiest, Grumpiest, Sneeziest movie. First released in December 1937, this movie was the first full length feature.
Bring a picnic dinner, spread out a blanket, and enjoy a family movie! The room will open at 6:00 p.m., 30 minutes before the start of the movie.
Alex the Jester Program ALEX THE JESTER

It's easy to imagine a court jester - the colorful trickster with bells jingling from his floppy hat. But have you ever seen one perform in real life? A rare treat, indeed! Enter the world of the Wise Fool, and take an inspiring journey to Medieval times. Alex the Jester prefers action to words, from mind bending sight gags to amazing stunts. When he finally clears his throat to speak, a funny sounding gibberish tongue called Grammelot rolls off his tongue and his audience is captivated.

Pumpernickel Puppet shows include a cast of colorful puppet characters, audience participation, live voices, sound effects, and fast-paced scripts that educate as well as entertain.

A demonstration period follows every performance, giving the audience some insight into what happens behind the scenes.

Then, switch gears and isolate your head, arms and legs, moving, one at a time with each tick and each tock of Leroy Anderson's Syncopated Clock. Take a break with a soothing story, accompanied by matching music. Learn to keep a steady beat by playing rhythm games and singing finger play songs.
