| Description |
Brick store on Massachusetts Avenue, East Lexington, opposite Pleasant Street.
"Erected in 1828. The first brick building built in Lexington. This and the Harrington house, facing the Common, built about 1833, were the only brick buildings in Lexington until 1871 when the old Town Hall was erected. Here Eli Robbins carried on a store. Later used by Rufus Holbrook. Upstairs was a large room used for social purposes. Lodge of Odd Fellows [Independent Order of Odd Fellows, I.O.O.F.] met here 1849-1850, etc." |
