Nathaniel Pierce house, upper corner of Maple Street.
"This fine old farm house dates from around 1810. Nathaniel Pierce was one of the big milk raisers and distributors, having two barns on the place, one on each side and to the rear of the house. Directly back of the house where the big trees remain was the only private cemetery in Lexington. The house formerly stood nearer the street but was moved back and the el added when Mr. Rhodes Lockwood purchased it for a summer home. Some of you will recall the family and that the oldest daughter, Henrietta, married Dick Tower, son of William A. Tower. Lizzie Pierce born 1837."
