| Description |
Massachusetts Avenue from Brown's Brook toward Pleasant Street.
"Do you call it Brown's Brook, Sickle Brook, or Hog-Pen Brook? The house on the left was the home of Francis Brown, one of the prominent men of Lexington during the Revolution. I cannot say that this house was built before the Revolution but Brown kept a Tavern here in the early 1800s. His grand-son Charles was born here in 1816. Some here may recall the old gentleman - and surely many will recall his daughter Mrs. Minnie Wellington and his grand-daughter Miss Dorothy Wentworth. This picture was taken in 1895." |
