"Fire place side-door is to the "old" kitchen. Tavern built about 1705. License issued to John Muzzey to keep a "public house" 1713.
Contents auctioned off November 9, 1912. Purchased by Town in 1913. Town paid $30,000. Lexington Historical Society raised $10,000. Total $40,000. Street widened 1927. Lady is Mrs. Caleb Stetson (Julia Ann Merriam), died August 1889." |
