| Description |
Simonds Tavern, Old Concord Avenue.
"This is a view of the Simonds Tavern. The house was located on Old Concord Avenue at the corner of Spring Street facing in the direction of the Captain Parker homestead. The house was built about 1810 for a tavern and was so used until 1828. It burned down about 1915. With the rapidly changing population in Lexington I find few persons who would even remember there was such a place. How this old homestead would groan at the modern Concord Highway which passes across that lawn!" |
