It would hardly be fair to refer to the fire department of former years without showing them in action. Here is a picture of a fire right in Lexington Centre. The picture shows the old buildings on the Avenue - extending from the entrance to the grain-mill down to the corner where Trani's fruit store now stands. In the distance is the old Town Hall. When was this fire? June 16, 1898"
