| Groundbreaking for the first Pageant, June 1915.
"To be held on the estate of J. Willard Hayden, Jr., facing the Cambridge Water Basin. Actual work was begun when, on October 18, 1913, a little group of citizens assembled to witness the turning of the first sod by Captain Charles M. Parker, the great-grandson of Captain John Parker.
Those present, left to right: George H. Childs, Edward W. Taylor, Edwin B. Worthen, Alfred Pierce, Mrs. Medora Robbins Crosby, Mrs. Leroy Brown, Mr. Leroy Brown, Edgar D. Parker, Dr. Fred S. Piper, Captain Charles M. Parker, Herbert G. Locke, Alonzo E. Locke.
In the carriage (note: shows on negative): John Rose, Mrs. Livermore, Mrs. Whittier (sister of Mrs. Livermore)."
