Description 
Miss Nash's Private School students, 1873. "Miss Nash maintained a private school in Lexington from 1866 to 1881 furnishing an excellent education to those whose parents felt that the old District School was not just the thing. For eight years this school was in the building (now a dwelling) beside Vine Brook. Later in Cary Hall in the old Town Hall. This picture was taken in 1873. Reading from left to right the persons are: Addie Spencer, Grace Mills, Lizzie Griffiths, Susie Cappelle, Sarah Sherburne, Frank H. Reed, Florence Hobbs. SEATED: Susie Muzzey, George Goodwin, Billy Locke. STANDING AT RIGHT: Mary Sherburne (Mrs. Dr. Valentine), Elsie Shaw, Mina Goddard, Helen Blinn, Charles Perkins. IN CENTER ON STEPS SITTING DOWN: __ Rogers, Kate Griffiths, Fannie Smith. DIRECTLY ABOVE THEM ARE: George Walter Sampson, Eva Batchelder. AND IN BACK AT LEFT: Nellie Griffiths, John Parks, James P.
