| Abstract |
Map of AMC outing, June 3, 1905, by E. G. Chamberlain, indicating Fessenden Hill, Zion's Hill. Sketched en route by E. G. Chamberlain.
Note by Edwin B. Worthen:
"The part of Lexington which is the least known. The hill, highest in Lexington, to the east of Lowell Street near the Winchester town line. This interesting map of the hill and surrounding territory was made in 1905 following an outing of the Appalachian Mountain Club when 53 members tramped over the hill following the route indicated by the arrows. While Mr. E. G. Chamberlain, who made the map has named the hills 'Fessendens Hill' and 'Gypsy Moth Hill,' neither hill has an official or accepted name." |
