Photo folder, BRIDGE (MATTHEW ) HOUSE, MARRETT ROAD Matthew Bridge House, 271 Marrett Road. An extensive rambling house built between circa 1660 and circa 1740. The earlier date has not been clarified. The ell predates the main house, which was remodeled in the Federal style. Matthew Bridge built earlier part of house by 1668 on land that he had inherited from his father, John Bridge. The elder Bridge was one of the original proprietors of Lexington, known as "Cambridge Farms" then, but he did not live here. Matthew's son, Matthew, Jr. inherited the property and became the first selectman after the incorporation of the town.
