Cary Memorial Library, 1874 Massachusetts Avenue, and the East Lexington Branch library at 735 Massachusetts Avenue
Negatives and photographs show the main library of the Town of Lexington, at 1874 Massachusetts Avenue and Clarke Street, the site which it still occupies.
Dedicated on July 16, 1906, the building was the gift of Miss Alice Butler Cary in honor of her foster mother, Mrs. Maria Hastings Cary. It has been renovated several times, most recently during 1999-2004.
