Description 
Ten prints and negatives of houses in the Kite End (a.k.a. Smith's End) neighborhood, April 1942. On verso: 1. "Smith homestead. Blossom & Allen Streets. Used to be a great (twin) elm at the corner, on the lawn behind the wall." 2. "Frost Farm. Allen St." 3. "The Frost farm on Allen St. (Hezekiah Smith; later Ebenezer Munroe, John Munroe, then M. H. Roberts, & now Frost)" 4. "Galen Allen farm on Allen Street. Joseph Smith, early or original owner, married in 1765. Then to son Joseph, then to Marshall Wellington. He sold in 1838 to Galen Allen. Later Richards, & now Swenson." 5. "Carroll farm, on Allen St. Built about 1805 by David Tuttle." 6. "The Smith Homestead, at Blossom and Allen Streets. Josiah Smith, then Abram Smith, Oliver and William B. Smith. Later to another Abram Smith (father of Charlotte). Now Slocum. Records show Josiah sold to Abram in 1785." 7. "Rear view of the Packard farm, on right side of Concord Avenue going east from Waltham Street. Built by Nehemiah Wellington 1808. Sold 1817 to Josiah Smith. Later Arthur Jewett. Now Packard. (This part of town was known as Smith's End as well as Kit End.)" 8. "First house on left going east from Waltham St. on Concord Ave. The Foster place. Joseph Underwood married in 1800 & probably built it." 9. "Second house on left going east from Waltham St. on Concord Ave. Built by Thomas Smith 1805." 10. "Arthur Hutchinson's, on Allen Street. Records show one Josiah Underwood sold it to Josiah Smith in 1760. Later owned by Elias Smith, and Bradford Smith.
