One of a set of prints and negatives of houses in the Kite End (a.k.a. Smith's End) neighborhood, April 1942. Written on verso: "Rear view of the Packard farm, on right side of Concord Avenue going east from Waltham Street. Built by Nehemiah Wellington 1808. Sold 1817 to Josiah Smith. Later Arthur Jewett. Now Packard. (This part of town was known as Smith's End as well as Kit End.)" |
