Rest Inn, 223 Massachusetts Avenue, East Lexington.
An inn in East Lexington that opened in 1876 as the Centennial Hotel, and was housed in a large three story building in Second Empire style, with mansard roof and large extension in the back that nearly doubled its size. Exterior photographs show extensive porch wrapped around front and side. One interior photograph is of ballroom with damaged floor and piano. There were 4 large parlors on first floor, as well as a large kitchen. The second floor contained 14 rooms, while the third had 7 chambers and the ball room. Edwin B. Worthen Jr. provides more extensive details in a note. It was demolished in 1944.
