| Description |
Photo, Lexington Minuteman (Hayes Memorial Fountain), color, mounted on a plaque.
Label on front: "53826 Statue of Captain Parker on the Green at Lexington, Mass. Copyright, 1902, by Detroit Photographic Co."
Label on reverse: "This and the companion picture of the Boulder and Harrington house date between 1900 & 1910. The Detroit Publishing Co. were a very large producer of colored postal cards. I do not recall whether the Lex. Historical Society bought from them before or after they used cards made in German. These are the only two pictures I have seen reproduced and mounted in this way. I do not think they were something sold by the Society or by the druggist, O. G. Seeley. They could have been samples or could have been made up as a gift to the Treasurer of the Society in acknowledgement of orders given for cards. They came from the Society Treasurer of that period. Edwin B. Worthen." (See also Worthen.19.208.)
