Description 
White Tricorn hat, with red and blue trim, approximately 11 x 14 in. Handwritten notecard: "The first tricorn hat. Presented to Edwin B. Worthen (Sr.) on the Common, April 19, 1954." (Cataloger's note: According to the caption of a photograph in the Lexington Minuteman newspaper, May 6, 1954, "White Tri-Corne hat, symbolic award for active contribution to the cause of "American Liberty," was presented to Edwin B. Worthen, president of the Lexington Savings Bank and Town Historian, on April 19th. The award was made by the Lions Club in recognition of Mr. Worthen's many contributions to the background history of Lexington." (Zitso Studio)
