Description Old (first) High School classroom with students at desks, 1882.

"The interior of the old High School was one large room with high arched windows with blinds on the inside and no curtains. Over the main room was a long narrow room used for chemistry classes.

Here we have a view of the interior, I think the year is 1882. Standing at the back against the main entrance is Mr. Carpenter, the Principal. Some of the pupils that I have been able to identify are: Fred Fowle, Carlton Childs, Howard Hendley, Frederick L. Emery, Nellie McCarthy, Rose McNamara, Carrie Kauffman, Mable G. Wing, Alice Read, Charlotte A. Smith, Sylvia Reed, Edith Harrington, Annie Saville.

Our new high school was built in 1902 and enlarged in 1885 [the old one enlarged in '85]."
