Photo, Solomon Brown House. Note included with the image says, "The Solomon Brown House, built about 1766. This stood just below Brown's Brook in front of Mr. Beardsell's house. Solomon Brown was a shoe-maker and played a prominent part on April 19, 1775. This house was torn down then Massachusetts Avenue was widened in 1889. Mr. Beardsell's house was made out of Solomon Brown's shoe shop. East Lexington." This is one of a group of images on proof pages for an unidentified publication. All images in this set were taken in 1885, according to a note included with them.
