Photo, Merriam-Viles House. Note included with the image says, "The Merriam House, later known as the Viles place. Stood on Massachusetts Avenue just above Winthrop Road. Was one of the houses pillaged by the British troops. Now used as a store, on Woburn Street." This is one of a group of images on proof pages for an unidentified publication. All images in this set were taken in 1885, according to a note included with them.
