Learning about Cecropia Moths

Wednesday, July 8, 2015

I got a chance to learn about cecropia moths recently when Ms West dropped by the Children's Room to show off the moths that she raises and teach us all about them. Did you know that the cecropia moth is North America's largest native moth? And that once they emerge from their cocoons as adults, they do not eat so they only live 1 - 2 weeks! It was fascinating!!!

Ms West promised she'll pop back in later this summer so that we can all see the caterpillars before they start to build their cocoons.
