Teen volunteer activities include helping out at public events such as the Fairy Tale Ball or the Summer Ice Cream Social, as well as quieter jobs like preparing craft materials for children’s programming. Teens may earn community service credit for their work at the library, but it is important to check the specifics of any community service requirements first.
All library volunteers must be at least 14 years of age. We work with patrons from any local high school as well as homeschool patrons who are of high school age.
Teens interested in volunteering at the library must attend a brief orientation session where they learn the expectations for teen volunteering and how to sign up for specific volunteer activities using a program called SignUpGenius. We hold these orientation sessions regularly throughout the year. The next two orientation sessions will be Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 11am, and Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at 4pm. Registration is not required for any orientation session. For more information, contact the Teen Services Manager at email@example.com.
