As part of its 150th anniversary celebration, Cary Memorial Library welcomes its first poet-in-residence, Regie O’Hare Gibson.
A Lexington resident and literary performer, Gibson will compose and perform a poem encapsulating what the library means to the community.
During the months of October and November, Gibson will be in the library at various times observing and speaking with library users about their stories, experiences and impressions of the library.
The final piece will be debuted at the birthday celebration on January 27, 2019 and a second performance will likely be incorporated into the Cary Memorial Library Foundation’s Gala on March 23, 2019.
