Thanks in part to its location in the Town Center, the Cary Memorial Library receives frequent requests to display signage or banners on the library’s building and grounds. In order to maintain a welcoming environment for all and out of respect for our historic location, the Library Board of Trustees generally allows only library or library affiliate (Cary Library Foundation or Friends of Cary Library) programs to be advertised on the library property.
Exceptions may be made for programs sponsored by Town departments/committees or for other community organizations when the library is an active partner/sponsor for the program.
This policy applies to banners, yard signs, sandwich boards, and the Library’s Massachusetts Avenue Kiosk. Signs placed without the explicit permission of the Library will be removed.
