Updated Construction Timeline as of 11/21/25

Article Date
November 21, 2025

Dear Cary Library Community,

We’re pleased to share that the library received an updated construction timeline from our colleagues at the Department of Public Facilities. There’s good news, the end is in sight! You may have noticed activity increasing over the past couple of weeks. Ceilings, lighting, and painting are now complete, and contractors are scheduled to begin installing flooring next week.

As of this writing, the Facilities team anticipates that construction will be finished early next year. Furniture and shelving are expected to arrive in early January. Once those are installed, our moving company will begin putting everything back into place. If all goes as planned, we hope to reopen the Lower Level in mid-February.

Please note that during the move-in process the library will need to close for approximately two weeks to reassemble collections and spaces. We will share specific closure dates as soon as they are confirmed in the new year.

As always, please check our Hours webpage for any changes and closures.

If you have questions, please reach out to me at kstembridge@lexingtonma.gov or 781-698-4401.

Best regards,

Koren Stembridge

Library Director
