In order to provide fair and equal access to programs, a child who has missed three programs within a six-month period without notification to the Library in advance of their absence shall not be allowed to register for any programs or activities for a period of six-months from the date of the last missed program.  The Library must be notified no later than one hour before the scheduled start of the program of an absence or it may be considered a late cancellation. Two late cancellations in a six-month period are considered one “no show” for the purposes of program attendance.

Unaccompanied Adults in Youth Services Spaces and Programs

Adults are permitted in the Youth Services areas when accompanied by a youth or if the adult is actively using the collection or space in a way deemed appropriate by the staff. Unaccompanied adults may be asked by library staff to use the facilities, services, and equipment in the adult section of the library. If the individual does not comply with staff direction or repeatedly violates this policy, the individual will be asked to leave and may be banned from the Library. This policy was developed out of concern for the safety of children in the library.
